Example: While determining the scaling ratio to simulate the Mangbetu  "Heads" sculpture can be found by trial and error, it can also be determined analytically. Here is an analytic solution:
 
1) Select the "Head" base shape and it's corresponding picture of the original art below.

2) Note that by moving the hand cursor over the base image, you get a readout of the X,Y coordinates. The lower edge of the base image ends at about (-12,-12). The upper end of that edge is about (12,12).


3) Using the coordinate positions and the Cartesian distance formula, the relative lengths should be about 31:34 or 91%.
4) Using this scaling ratio of 91%, a translation of 50%, and Reflect every 1 iteration, you can generate a reasonable simulation of the original ivory sculpture.
